As we are in the midst of Holiday #1, I'd like to say that my boss attends a Messianic Jewish fellowship. We've had a lot of interesting conversations and I am enjoying learning more about his faith. It's been great fun, and I would like to wish him and his family a J-y-us H-liday.
On Saturday, we joined my mom, dad, sister, her boyfriend, my aunt, uncle, and cousin for dinner in the International City. The restaurant is a new one that is in a Holiday Inn (read: not Christmas Inn). So as you can imagine, it has all the unique decor and feel of , say, a Denny's. Katie and I had never been to it before, but my parents like it because it is cheap and provides a lot of food for the money. The menu was huge, featuring Greek Food, Italian Food, Classic American Food, Breakfast, and so on. Then, some weird-sounding world music started playing and a belly dancer showed up. It's always so strange to find a place that serves breakfast at night.
Today was my day off for the week as we head into Holiday #2. I did what most procrastinators do this time of year and put on some shorts, a t-shirt, and went out and mowed the lawn. I was still kind of mad at myself the whole time, saying "next year I'm gonna get this done early."
