Today I accidently attended a political meeting...

Autumn had to go to the doctor's office in Macon today, and later Katie and the Beep met up with me at my store. We meandered around, and seeing that it was such a good day outside (cool and crisp) I thought it would be a good opportunity to get a latte from the local shop called Joshua Cup.

Strangely enough, Mac Collins (R-GA) was in there hosting a meet and greet. There were some people at the meeting who knew who I was from when I was trying to get into GA politics. It felt very weird to have stumbled into something like that. I was still wearing my name tag from work, so the once and future Congressman and I discussed the grocery business for a few minutes, and I told him that I had voted for him yesterday (I always vote absentee).

It was an interesting exchange, but it was good to slip in and slip back out (Autumn was pleased to have snagged one of the complimentary Chick-Fil-A nuggets from the gathering).

While I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn, I am glad to have a little more say in whether I will have a job in November.

PS -- Today's fuel price remained unchanged.
