The graphic prominently displays a telephone booth accompanied by an unidentified male in the foreground in a state of partial undress. The graphic appears to be a modified version of another photograph which itself may or may not have been copyrighted.
Many of Anyonymous' other works have lapsed into public domain over the centuries of his or her prolific career.
"After centuries of hard work and staggering creativity, we are amazed that Anonymous could find the time to visit our meager website," said Karl A. Kilgore, who was named as a potential target of the lawsuit. "In a spirit of cooperation, we are not going to demand answers for why the lawsuit was threatened, or level any assertions regarding the limitation of speech, freedom, justice, or expression."
Anonymous' "cease and desist" request came in the form of a comment on a blog article on Thursday evening.
Karl A. Kilgore and Associates does not expect any similar legal action to be taken against them by persons known as Homer, Edmund Burke, The Easter Bunny, or the Great Pumpkin.
