Watching Pride and Predjudice

I am watching Pride and Predjudice on DVD right now. I might as well admit that I never read the book. Here are some thoughts:

1. The camera work is very impressive with the way they do the long cut away shots and the moving camera effects at the balls are also very well done.

2. It is really foreign nowadays to witness a society that has complex rules. The only rules of our society seems to be there ain't no rules.

3. Mrs. Bennett refering to her husband as "Mr. Bennett" all the time is really annoying.

4. I reiterate, there are some awesome camera effects.

I think that if you're going to be critical that you ought to at least have the courtesy of being topical. It would have been better if you used your own blog to attack this one. On the subject of Pride and Predjudice, I would have to admit that it wouldn't be my favorite movie. However, as Karl pointed out, there are a lot of good things about how the movie was constructed. I only wish that he would have read the book first so that he could actually make an informed evaluation. But then again, facts don't always get in the way of his arguments.
